Canada does not currently have a law dealing with abortion and that ours is one of only a few countries with no legal restrictions on abortion.

In Canada, all females 12 years and older can, without their parents’ consent, have an abortion.

Abortions are provided on request and are funded by our medical care system.

The Supreme Court of Canada has never considered the question of whether a child, who has not yet been born, is included in the “everyone” who have the right to life pursuant to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. However, the court did rule that “a fetus is not a person until it is born and fully outside the mother's body.”
